If you have been online for any time at all then you know that Google usually shakes things up big time every year during the last quarter. Well they are doing it again this time there coming with a tsunami. They are introducing the all new Google Caffeine which is their next generation of search engine technology. And of course as always their plan is WORLD DOMINATION… Well the world wide web at least.
Google Caffeine is more than just one of Google’s frequent updates, they are going to release a complete overhaul of their search engine. Google 2.0 if you will… They have improved their search technology as well as the algorithm used to index your website.
According to Matt Cutts (Google Spokesperson) Google already has one database online, and the full blown version will be released after the Holidays. In the past Google has been known for making there changes right around the Holidays in an effort to prepare for the new year. As you could imagine this stirred up a bunch of SH** among Internet Marketers.
It would appear that Google has started listening to the webmasters, and has decided to be a little generous. They have started being a little more forthcoming as far as how they index web pages. In fact they even allowed a selected few to beta test an early version of Caffeine, and yes THE SEO BULLY was one of the few.
I voweled to deliver top-notch information to those on my list. As I was beta testing I was constantly reporting feedback back to my students. Now I’m going to release this information to you, but I must forewarn you – I am sharing my educated opinions based on my personal test results. I also compared notes with a few other Veteran Internet Marketers. I am saying this to say – DO NOT go changing your entire business model around based on the information you get from me. Please, please, please, do your own testing. If you have any experience in Internet Marketing you know that Google changes their plans at the blink of an eye.
Now that I have put my little disclaimer out there on the table, let’s move on shall we? Here is a little scoop straight from the mouth of Google if you will. They are throwing a new criteria in the mix. With there new search engine face lift, “Site Speed,” or how fast your site loads will now play a factor. My test results also show that Caffeine will be penalizing websites for broken links.
It would also appear that the quality of your website will play a bigger role in rankings. After all it should… Put yourself in Google’s shoes for a moment, they are no different then any other company that is putting out a product. If there product is of poor quality it reflects badly on everyone involved. The key to Google’s success is their SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) after all it is the key to all of their online revenue. It is their job to do whatever they have to keep their product fast, relevant, current and above all it must be of the highest quality.
My test results show that On Page factors will definitely play a bigger role with the new Google Caffeine. Unique content will carry more weight, page design, navigation, title, meta tags, description, keyword density, alt tags, page views, bounce rate, traffic numbers, time spent on page, and the number of social bookmarks may play an increased role in achieving higher rankings. For those of you that make a living via Adsense you may want to start figuring out a new game plan as far as bounce rate becoming a factor.
The information in the above paragraph for the most part was derived via my personal testings. However the one thing that is a fact, and I am 100% sure of is that Social BookMarking will play a huge factor in Google’s new algorithm.
If you are feeling a little worried please allow me to put your mind at ease. This new decision by Google appears to be the best thing that could ever happen for those with online businesses. Google is simply leveling the playing field, because they understand that anyone with enough money could buy a top search position. This process is called link buying and has become a very profitable business today. All indications show that Google is trying to do away with this problem and attempting to create more of a, “May The Bestter Man Win” type scenario.
While beta testing the Caffeine search engine I couldn’t determine if backlinking was going to play more of a role or not. However it still looks like keyworded domains and on site content along with other optimization factors did out weigh backlinking in the majority of my test results.
Here’s a little something that Google has already started doing and not many Internet Marketers are aware of this. Please keep in mind this is just based on my personal research. My test results show that Google is somehow using the audio within videos and using it to determine what the video is about. My testing shows that they are using about 15 or 20 seconds of the audio to get an idea. I noticed that when I mentioned my keyword phrase in the beginning I was indexed higher than when I failed to use it or I used it later in the video.
If you want to dominate the search engines you will need to do two things right now. The first is go follow me on twitter. The second thing you need to do is go sign up for my SEO Gorilla Tactics list. No worries neither thing will cost you a dime, and you will gain a wealth of information.
